Abstract: On the coarse-grained view, any distinctions between mental contents can be characterized using possible worlds. The coarse-grained view is sometimes thought to be refuted by straight forward counterexamples involving failures of logical omniscience. An independently motivated theory of mental fragmentation enables one avoid the counterexamples while preserving the coarse-grained view.
