Dr. Jutta Valent studied Philosophy and German Studies at the University of Graz. She graduated with a dissertation on the mind-body-problem in Moritz Schlick’s epistemology. Since 1985, she has been conducting archival and documentary work at the Forschungsstelle und Dokumentationszentrum für Österreichische Philosophie in Graz. Since 2011 she has been an associate at the Alexius-Meinong-Institute at the University of Graz.
Her research focuses on Austrian philosophy (Christian von Ehrenfels and Robert Reininger, more recently also in relation to Spinoza’s philosophy).
Research areas: History of philosophy (Austrian philosophy, Spinoza), existential philosophy (Kierkegaard); systematical interest in questions of ontology, epistemology and philosophy of religion.
