How to Use the Library
General Library Rules
cell phones are not permitted
silence must be observed
eating and drinking are not allowed in the library
smoking is not permitted
coats, jackets, bags are to be stored outside the library
keep things in order; put books back properly on shelves after using or copying
handle books carefully; do not write anything in books
Please use the Online-Catalogue as follows:
- Type an author's name or a keyword or both in the search box and press the go to button.
- Select a library from the list and write down the book number. In the departmental library books are arranged according to subjects. The book number shows where the book is shelved.
- Take the book from the shelf and bring it to the library supervisor to have the loan recorded.
The Departmental Library consists of an open access collection and a small reference collection. Contrary to the main library books cannot be ordered. Users take them from the shelves themselves and bring them to the library staff. The loan is recorded online. To borrow books, a library card is needed.
Excluded from loan are rare books, journals, encyclopedias, reference books, collected works editions, and materials on the course reserve shelves.
The normal loan period is 30 days. The loan period can be extended three times online by the users themselves.
Overdue loans are fined.
